Our Field Trip

We went on our first field trip. We visited the Gene Autry Museum in Los Angeles. First we went on the yellow bus. the school bus has no seat belts! When we got to the museum we went on a educational tour. We learned about the different people who came to the American West. It was very interesting.

Bats

Do you know how to make bats? We made a whole colony for our classroom. We used black paper and crayon to make the body. Bats are really useful animals. They eat insects. Bats have an amazing sense of hearing. Bats can "see" with their ears. It is called echolocation. Bats are fascinating animals.

Gardening Day

We had a great time gardening today. We got to pick seeds. We picked nasturtium, turnips, carrots, and mesclun salad. We made the soil smooth and picked out any debris. We made a line in the soil and put the seeds in. We covered the seeds and watered them. We can't wait to see our seeds germinate!
